Short Term Accommodation
Short-term or respite accommodation is usually needed when your carer is away or when your family goes on vacation. It allows you to enjoy a short stay in a place where you can still receive the level of support at the frequency and intensity that you are used to at home. Enjoy the chance to experience independent living and meet new people in our welcoming short-term accommodation facilities in Canberra. With us you have three wonderful respite homes to choose from, each one offering the best of the city with peaceful surroundings and easy access to all amenities. Receive nutritious meals and disability care during your stay with us.
Medium Term Accommodation
If you’ve just come out of hospital and require care before going home, or if you need a place to stay while you wait for a permanent vacancy, you may need medium-term accommodation. This is typically funded by the NDIS for a period of up to 90 days for participants who need a slightly longer stay than short-term respite. The benefits of this option are that you can have sufficient time to settle in for a few months while receiving adequate care and support. ACS has a qualified team of care workers who have vast experience in the health and disability sector to provide professional assistance at the intensity and frequency that you require. Supported Independent Living
The NDIS will fund Supported Independent Living (SIL) for participants with high personal care needs. This does not cover your accommodation costs, but it will cover the support that you need to live independently at home. SIL can include ongoing support in your own home or in shared accommodation. With this support, you can live your own life without having to depend on family 24/7. A kind, caring support team from ACS will be matched to your needs and assigned to deliver quality care in your accommodation, from helping with mobility to personal care to meal preparation and medication assistance. We also offer SIL at each of our three accessible homes in Canberra.
Independent Living Options
Have you been thinking about living on your own but feel overwhelmed with all the information to go through and decisions to make? Independent Living Options (ILO) is a support funded by the NDIS to help you choose the best living arrangement that appeals to your personal taste and disability care needs. You can choose to live in your own apartment, with family, in a shared home or with a host and you can decide how much support you need and how often. This is extremely beneficial for participants who want to try out a few options before finding a living arrangement that they absolutely love. ACS can help you explore different independent living options for your ideal home arrangement that will be conducive to your goals in life. We also have three beautiful NDIS accommodation facilities for you to choose from.
